  My husband and I try to avoid chain restaurants, we like to find local places, mom and pop shops and family owned. I was surprised when he suggested we try Bonefish Grill and I was really surprised at how “not chain food style” the food was.
  
  Visited 03/24 about 6:00 p.m.
  
  We were seated at the same time a party of 16 was seated and expected (dreaded) to have wait for a while to get our orders, but the staff is on the ball here, we didn’t have to wait at all.
  
  As someone who has worked as a server over the last 30 years, I was impressed with how well the large party was taken care of and none of the two, three and four tops got ignored.
  
  That’s a staff that works well together!
  
  Bravo to the folks who make the back of the house run so smoothly so the front looks so effortless.
  
  We had the ceviche and fried calamari as appetizers, both were delicious!
  
  Ordering either one is a bit of a crap shoot, chances are it isn’t going to be all that great, but we are fools and always hope for the best when we make the ceviche or calamari choices. We will go back to Bonefish just for the fact we know we can order the items and be happy with what is brought out!
  
  We both had the fish and chips and this was the only down side to the whole meal:
  
  WAY-WAY-WAY too much breading on the fish which leads to the breading being excessively greasy.
  
  We both ate the cod out of the breading. The fillets were perfect! Not the least bite greasy or over cooked.
  
  We joked with each other about the fact it was like having to dig thru a shell to get crab or lobster!
  
  I’d suggest they dial back the batter, but if they did, the fillets might not be so good!
  The “over breading” won’t stop us from going back for the fish and chips, for sure.

  Beautiful atmosphere... Romantic. For the first time I've gone there wasn't a wait. We sat right away and was greeted by our outgoing, friendly server. We ordered martinis and then the famous Bang Bang Shrimp...to die for! Delicious!
  I normally get the Sea Bass but I instead changed it up by going with the Sirloin & Crab cake. My date ordered the chicken breast. When the entrees arrived I was a little shocked at the small size of the sirloin and the crab cake. The steak was slightly over done but the crab cake was great. The sides were delicious too. Overall, not my best visit but I've had wonderful dinners here before so I highly recommend it.
