  So I live in Rhode Island now but am from New Orleans. My mother ordered a bavarian cream filled king cake for me and while there was an initial computer glitch in the system regarding the shipping, the cake arrived on the original delivery date. (I was told it would be a day later than what we thought..) ANYWAY...the cake is delicious! It's moist..the cream filling sweet but not overly. I'd order again! (And probably will..)

  Great bakery but why not have Milk? When eating these delightful treats you really need something to wash it down with. I would suggest Gambinos to carry at least pints of Milk. No matter how you put it nothing beats this bakery for great cakes, boy what a sugar rush I just got now on to the French Quarters to walk it off.just made it back in town had to visit this place for my sweet fix, disappointed they did not have rum balls but I guess I made it in late. still one of my traditional stop when in the big easy.

  Gambino's is the home of Doberge cake beloved of all New Orleanians; gospel truth. They make beautiful wedding cakes and delicious cookies for the young in fun shapes. My favorite part is the big sign hanging from the ceiling telling you the names of employees and how long they've worked there. There are several centuries worth of baking knowledge in this modest building. Go to Gambino's, you won't regret it.
